Zulia & Huipa is a beautifully curated collection of handcrafted products made by the Mayan community, it fuses ancient textile techniques with contemporary designs.
We work closely with small communities, cooperatives and
woman’s weaving groups.
Our mission is to preserve and share all native cultures, echo their voices, share their spirit, and create sustainable futures for generations to come.
We are a slow fashion movement, our entire collection is artisan-made, meaning small batches in home workshops
with minimal waste.
Our collection is designed and developed in NYC and produce in Mexico.
Renata Solis was born in mountains of Mexico. From a young age, her passion for creating universes, communicating ideas, through colors, textures and imagined worlds became the transformational starting point for her creative ambitions.
This creative love eventually took her to Buenos Aires, where she trained as creative director and makeup artist, and finally moved to New York City to pursue her career.
After a trip to the mountains of southern Mexico, and an encounter with the roots of her Mexican heritage; she discovered the cumulative mix of all of her passions and poured them into Zulia & Huipa.
Her deep love and respect for the Mayan culture, and indigenous nations, drove her into work with the artisans from her mother land.
