Zulia & Huipa is a beautifully designed collection of handcrafted products made by the Maya community that fuses ancient textile techniques with contemporary designs.
We work closely with small communities, cooperatives and women’s weaving groups. For our leather bags we handcraft each item in our own workshop, in Leon, Gto, using the highest quality and most ethical and responsible materials and processes.
We source responsibly our leather from the dead-stock of major footwear manufacturers in Mexico, and as a result our bags are waterproof.
Our mission is to preserve and share all native cultures, echo their voices, share their spirit, and create sustainable futures for generations to come.
We are a slow fashion movement, our entire collection is artisan-made, meaning small batches in home workshops with minimal waste, reducing our carbon footprint. Our collection is designed and developed in NYC and produced in Mexico.
